Broommate · Effective July 2, 2026
The short version: we store only what the app needs to work —
your account, your household's chores, and a push token. We don't run ads, we don't track you
across apps, and we never sell your data. You can delete everything yourself, in the app.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, a display name you choose, and a password (stored hashed — we never see it).
- Household content: the chores, tasks, schedules, points, goals, and prizes your household creates. Your partner (if you have one) sees this shared content — that's the product.
- Device push token: if you enable notifications, an Apple push token so we can deliver them. Nothing else about your device.
- Subscription status: whether your household has Premium, via RevenueCat and Apple. We never see your payment details — Apple handles the transaction.
What we don't collect
- No advertising identifiers, no cross-app tracking, no analytics SDKs.
- No location, contacts, photos, or anything outside what you type into the app.
Who processes it
- Supabase hosts the database and authentication (data encrypted in transit and at rest).
- RevenueCat processes subscription entitlements.
- Apple delivers push notifications and handles payments.
These providers act on our instructions to run the service — nothing more.
Children's privacy
Broommate households can include kids, and we treat their data with extra care:
- Parental consent comes first, and we record it. A child can only join a household through a dedicated kid invite code that an adult household member shares. Before the code is revealed, that adult confirms in the app that they are the child's parent or legal guardian and consents to the child's use of Broommate — and we keep a record of that consent (which adult, and when) for as long as the child's account exists.
- Kids give us no personal contact information — not even an email. A child signs in with a username and a secret code they choose; we never ask a kid for an email address, birthdate, phone number, or real name. The only data tied to a kid account is that username/display name, their chore activity within the household, and — only if notifications are enabled — a push token. No ads, no tracking, no analytics, for anyone.
- Kid accounts can't purchase anything. Billing is adult-only; kids are never shown prices or purchase screens.
- Parents stay in control. Adults see everything a kid does in the household, can reset a kid's sign-in secret, can remove a kid's membership at any time, and can have a child's account and data deleted — in the app (an adult can remove a kid from Settings, or delete an account from the child's device) or by emailing us at founder@weavelab.io. Parental requests to review or delete a child's data are honored promptly.
- We keep kids' data only as long as we need it. A child's username, sign-in secret, and chore activity are retained while the account is active and are permanently deleted when the account is removed; the household's shared history is kept with the child's name removed. We do not retain children's personal information indefinitely, and we keep the parental-consent record only as our proof that consent was given.
Deleting your data
Settings → Delete account erases your account immediately and permanently: your profile, devices, and any household only you belong to. If you share a household, its shared history stays with your partner, with your name removed. No email required, no waiting period.
